The Sassy Nomad (India) recognizes the importance of privacy of its users and of maintaining confidentiality of the information provided by its users as a responsible data controller and data processer.

This Privacy Policy describes the policies and procedures followed by The Sassy Nomad on the collection, use, and disclosure of your information when you use the The Sassy Nomad Service, via the website or your mobile phone. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms “we”, “us”, or “our website” refer to thesassynomad.com, while the terms “you” or “your” refers to you, as a user of The Sassy Nomad platform. The term “Personal Information” means information that you provide to us which personally identifies you to be contacted or identified, such as your name, phone number, email address, and any other data that is tied to such information.

This Privacy Policy is applicable to any person (‘User’) who purchases, intends to purchase, or inquire about any product(s) or service(s) made available by The Sassy Nomad through any of The Sassy Nomad’s customer interface channels including its website, mobile site and offline channels.

By using or accessing the Platform, the User hereby agrees with the terms of this Privacy Policy and the contents herein. If you disagree with this Privacy Policy please do not use or access the Platform. USERS OUTSIDE THE GEOGRAPHICAL LIMITS OF INDIA

Please note that the data shared with The Sassy Nomad shall be primarily processed in India. By agreeing to this policy, you are providing The Sassy Nomad with your explicit consent to process your personal information for the purpose(s) defined in this policy. The data protection regulations in India or such may differ from those of your country of residence.

If you have any concerns in the processing your data and wish to withdraw your consent, you may do so by writing to the following email id: hitakshi@signaturetravels.com. However, if such processing of data is essential for us to be able to provide service to you, then we may not be able to serve or confirm your bookings after your withdrawal of consent. For instance, if you want to book any international holiday package, then certain personal information of yours like contact details, gender, choice of room with smoking facility, any medical condition which may require specific attention or facility etc. may have to be shared by us with our vendors in each city where you will stay, and they may further process this information for making suitable arrangements for you during the holiday. Such sharing and processing of information may extend to the hotel where you will stay.

A withdrawal of consent by you for us to process your information may:

  • severely inhibit our ability to serve you properly and in such case, we may have to refuse the booking altogether, or
  • unreasonably restrict us to service your booking (if a booking is already made) which may further affect your trip or may compel us to cancel your booking.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

The Sassy Nomad collects Personal Information about customers, prospective customers and Website users which is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, one or more its functions or activities. We Collect your Personal Information in several ways, including but not limited to:
(a) the registration process on our Website;
(b) other instances in which you provide Personal Information via our Website;
(c) over the phone.

Generally, the type of personal information we collect about you is the information that is needed to facilitate your travel arrangements, bookings and to arrange travel-related services and products on your behalf. The information we may collect may include, but is not limited to details such as your: name, residential and/or mailing address, contact numbers, email address and any health or lifestyle issues that may be relevant to your travel arrangements for the purposes of The Sassy Nomad and/or the travel service providers that we may engage on your behalf (this may include but is not limited to: airlines, insurance providers, hotels/resorts etc.) We may also collect some other information and documents including but not limited to:

  1. Transactional history (other than banking details) about your e-commerce activities and buying behaviour.
  2. Your usernames, passwords, email addresses, and other security-related information used by you in relation to our Services.
  3. Data available in the public domain or received from any third party including social media channels, including but not limited to personal or non-personal information from your linked social media channels (like name, email address, friend list, profile pictures, or any other information that is permitted to be received as per your account settings) as a part of your account information.
  4. Information pertaining to any other traveler(s) for whom you make a booking through your registered The Sassy Nomad account. In such case, you must confirm and represent that each of the other traveler(s) for whom a booking has been made, has agreed to have the information shared by you disclosed to us and further be shared by us with the concerned service provider(s).
  5. If you request The Sassy Nomad to provide visa-related services, then copies of your passport, bank statements, originals of the filled-in application forms, photographs, and any other information which may be required by the respective embassy to process your visa application.
  6. For international bookings, Users, in compliance with the Liberalized Remittance Scheme (LRS) of RBI or any other law may be required to provide details such as their PAN information or passport details or any such information required by the Service Provider. Such information shall be strictly used as per the aforesaid requirements only. In case a User does not wish to provide this information, The Sassy Nomad may not be able to process the booking. The Sassy Nomad will never share User’s PAN details without their prior consent unless otherwise such action is required for providing the services booked or by any law enforcement authority for investigation or by court order or in reference to any legal process.
  7. In case you opt for contactless check-in at Hotels, then copies of your government identification like aadhaar, driving license, election card, etc., Self-declaration, and any other information like date of birth, destination/ origin of travel and place of residence that may be required by the concerned Hotel to honour your hotel booking.
  8. We may also use your contact information to send you marketing emails, push notifications, SMS, or IVR calls. If you do not want to receive such communication, you may opt-out by following the instructions in the message or informing us over an email. If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address, and our responses.
  9. If you use your Facebook, Twitter, or other social networking site (“SNS”) account information to sign in to The Sassy Nomad, we will collect and store your SNS user ID, and other information that you explicitly allow us to access when using an SNS login.
  10. When you use a debit or credit card or other payment method for you’re the Sassy Nomad account, a third party that handles payments for us will receive your card information. To keep your financial data secure, we do not store card information on our servers.

Such information shall be strictly used for the aforesaid specified and lawful purpose only. User further understands that The Sassy Nomad may share this information with the end service provider or any other third party for provision and facilitation of the desired booking. The Sassy Nomad will always redact all/any sensitive and confidential information contained in the vaccination certificate, passbook, bank statement, or any other identity card submitted for the purpose of availing a service, promotional offer, or booking a product on the Website. In case a User does not wish to provide this information or opts for deletion of the information already provided, The Sassy Nomad may not be able to process the desired booking request. The Sassy Nomad will never share any of the above information collected including PAN card details, Vaccination status, and certificate, Passport details, Aadhaar Card details without their prior consent unless otherwise such action is required by any law enforcement authority for investigation, by court order, or in reference to any legal process.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION AND WHEN WE MAY DISCLOSE IT

Personally Identifiable Information: The Sassy Nomad may share your personally identifiable information with third parties for the purpose of providing the Service to you or with third parties offering combined services with The Sassy Nomad. If we do this, such third parties’ use of your information will be bound by this Privacy Policy. We may store personal information in locations outside the direct control of The Sassy Nomad (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers).

The Personal Information collected may be used in the following manner:

  1. While making a booking, we may use Personal Information including, payment details which include cardholder name, credit/debit card number (in encrypted form) with expiration date, banking details, wallet details, etc. as shared and allowed to be stored by you. We may also use the information of the travelers list as available in or linked with your account. This information is presented to the User at the time of making a booking to enable you to complete your bookings expeditiously.
  2. We may also use your Personal Information for several reasons including but not limited to:
    1. confirm your reservations with respective service providers;
    2. keep you informed of the transaction status;
    3. send booking confirmations either via SMS, or WhatsApp or any other messaging service;
    4. send any updates or changes to your booking(s);
    5. allow our customer service to contact you, if necessary;
    6. customise the content of our website and mobile site;
    7. request for reviews of products or services or any other improvements;
    8. send verification message(s) or email(s);
    9. validate/authenticate your account and to prevent any misuse or abuse.
    10. contact you on your birthday/anniversary to offer a special gift or offer.
  3. As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets or business offerings. Customer, email, and visitor information are generally one of the transferred business assets in these types of transactions. We may also transfer or assign such information during corporate divestitures, mergers, amalgamations, or dissolution.
  4. We may share or disclose your information with your consent, such as if you choose to sign on to the Service through a third-party service. We cannot control third parties’ use of your information.
  5. The Sassy Nomad may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or summon or if we believe that it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, or legal request; to protect the safety of any person; to address fraud, security or technical issues; or to protect The Sassy Nomad’s rights or property.
  6. Non-Personally Identifiable Information: We may aggregate and/or anonymize information collected through the Service so that the information does not identify you. We may use aggregated, anonymized, and other non-personally identifiable information for any purpose, including for research and marketing purposes, and our use and disclosure of such information is not subject to any restrictions under this Privacy Policy.
  7. Surveys: We value opinions and comments from our Users and frequently conduct surveys, both online and offline. Participation in these surveys is entirely optional. Typically, the information received is aggregated, and used to make improvements to Website, other Platform, services and to develop appealing content, features and promotions for members based on the results of the surveys. Identity of the survey participants is anonymous unless otherwise stated in the survey.
  8. Marketing Promotions, Research, and Programs: Marketing promotions, research, and programs help us to identify your preferences, develop programs, and improve user experience. The Sassy Nomad frequently sponsors promotions to give its Users the opportunity to win great travel and travel related prizes. Personal Information collected by us for such activities may include contact information and survey questions. We use such Personal Information to notify contest winners and survey information to develop promotions and product improvements. As a registered User, you will also occasionally receive updates from us about fare sales in your area, special offers, new The Sassy Nomad services, other noteworthy items (like savings and benefits on hotel reservations, holiday packages, car rentals, and other travel services) and marketing programs.
  9. In addition, you may look forward to receiving periodic marketing emails, newsletters, and exclusive promotions offering special deals.
  10. From time to time, we may add or enhance services available on the Website. To the extent these services are provided, and used by you, we will use the Personal Information you provide to facilitate the service(s) requested. For example, if you email us with a question, we will use your email address, name, nature of the question, etc. to respond to your question. We may also store such Personal Information to assist us in making the Website better and easier to use for our Users.
  11. The Sassy Nomad may allow third-party ad servers or ad networks to serve advertisements on the Service and on third-party services. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on The Sassy Nomad. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or web beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content. The Sassy Nomad does not provide any personally identifiable information to these third-party ad servers or ad networks without your consent. However, please note that if an advertiser asks The Sassy Nomad to show an advertisement to a certain audience and you respond to that advertisement, the advertiser or ad server may conclude that you fit the description of the audience they are trying to reach. The Sassy Nomad Privacy Policy does not apply to, and we cannot control the activities of, third-party advertisers. Please consult the respective privacy policies of such advertisers for more information.
  12. Service Providers and Suppliers: Your information shall be shared with the end service providers like hotels, cab rental, or any other suppliers who are responsible for fulfilling your booking. You may note that while making a booking with The Sassy Nomad you authorize us to share your information with the said service providers and suppliers. It is pertinent to note that The Sassy Nomad does not authorize the end service provider to use your information for any other purpose(s) except as may be for fulfilling their part of service. However, how the said service providers/suppliers use the information shared with them is beyond the purview and control of The Sassy Nomad as they process Personal Information as independent data controllers, and hence we cannot be made accountable for the same. You are therefore advised to review the privacy policies of the respective service provider or supplier whose services you choose to avail.
  13. The Sassy Nomad does not sell or rent individual customer names or other Personal Information of Users to third parties except for sharing of such information with our business/alliance partners or vendors who are engaged by us for providing various referral services and for sharing promotional and other benefits to our customers from time to time basis their booking history with us.
  14. Companies in the same group: In the interests of improving personalization and service efficiency, we may, under controlled and secure circumstances, share your Personal Information with our affiliate or associate entities. This will enable us to provide you with information about various products and services, both leisure and travel-related, which might interest you; or help us address your questions and requests in relation to your bookings.
  15. If the assets of The Sassy Nomad are acquired, our customer information may also be transferred to the acquirer depending upon the nature of such acquisition. In addition, as part of business expansion/development/restructuring or for any other reason whatsoever, if we decide to sell/transfer/assign our business, any part thereof, any of our subsidiaries, or any business units, then as part of such restructuring exercise customer information including the Personal Information collected herein shall be transferred accordingly.
  16. Business partners and third-party vendors: We may also share certain filtered Personal Information with our corporate affiliates or business partners who may contact the customers to offer certain products or services, which may include free or paid products/services, which will enable the customer to have better travel experience or to avail certain benefits specially made for The Sassy Nomad customers. Examples of such partners are entities offering co-branded credit cards, travel insurance, insurance cover against loss of wallet, banking cards, financial facilities, loans, or similar services, etc. If you choose to avail of any such services offered by our business partners, the services so availed will be governed by the privacy policy of the respective service provider.
  17. The Sassy Nomad may share your Personal Information to third party that The Sassy Nomad may engage to perform certain tasks on its behalf, including but not limited to payment processing, data hosting, and data processing platforms.
  18. We use non-identifiable Personal Information of Users in aggregate or anonymized form to build higher quality, more useful online services by performing statistical analysis of the collective characteristics and behaviour of our customers and visitors, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the Website. We may provide anonymous statistical information based on this data to suppliers, advertisers, affiliates, and other current and potential business partners. We may also use such aggregate data to inform these third parties as to the number of people who have seen and clicked on links to their websites. Any Personal Information which we collect and which we may use in an aggregated format is our property. We may use it, in our sole discretion and without any compensation to you, for any legitimate purpose including without limitation the commercial sale thereof to third parties.

Occasionally, The Sassy Nomad will hire a third party for market research, surveys, etc., and will provide information to these third parties specifically for use in connection with these projects. The information (including aggregate cookie and tracking information) we provide to such third parties, alliance partners, or vendors is protected by confidentiality agreements and such information is to be used solely for completing the specific project, and in compliance with the applicable regulations.
  20. At The Sassy Nomad, we collaborate and partner with various third parties to provide travel-related services to enhance your customer experience. When we share your information with these third-party service providers, we ensure that they are bound by our privacy policy standards and comply with all applicable data protection laws. These third parties may, from time to time, contact you directly to offer their services, including special offers, promotions, or relevant travel information. The decision to engage with any of these third-party service providers is entirely voluntary and at your discretion. If you choose to avail yourself of their services, please review their privacy policy independently before proceeding with any transactions with them. Your interaction with these third parties is a matter of your own choice.
  21. Disclosure of Information: In addition to the circumstances described above, The Sassy Nomad may disclose the User’s Personal Information if required to do so:
    1. by law, required by any enforcement authority for investigation, by court order or in reference to any legal process;
    2. to conduct our business;
    3. for regulatory, internal compliance, and audit exercise(s)
    4. to secure our systems; or
    5. to enforce or protect our rights or properties of The Sassy Nomad or any or all of its affiliates, associates, employees, directors, or officers or when we have reason to believe that disclosing Personal Information of User(s) is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be causing interference with our rights or properties, whether intentionally or otherwise, or when anyone else could be harmed by such activities.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

When you use the Service, we use persistent and session cookies and other tracking technologies to: (a) store your username, password, and authentication tokens; (b) analyse the usage of the Service; (c) customize the Service to your preferences; and (d) control the advertising displayed by the Service. A persistent cookie remains on your computer after you close your browser so that it can be used by your browser on subsequent visits to the Service. Persistent cookies can be removed by following your web browser’s directions. A session cookie is temporary and disappears after you close your browser. You can reset your web browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to The Sassy Nomad or guarantee that your information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

All payments on the Website are secured. This means all Personal Information you provide is transmitted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption. SSL is a proven coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us.

The website has stringent security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. Once your information is in our possession we adhere to strict security guidelines, protecting it against unauthorized access.

Where your personal data is no longer required, we will ensure it is either securely deleted or stored in archival which means it will no longer be used by the business.
